Dispatches is an essential injection of fresh, vibrant voices to the OSO and to South West London’s theatre scene. Variety, in essence, is what it offers the casual theatre goer but to writers, performers and directors it offers a springboard. You may have missed them this time, but remember their names… whatever the outcome, they’re going places. – Georgia Renwick, Mark Aspen Reviews

It’s that time again – time for another Dispatches! It’s our fourth scratch night, following on from three straight sellouts that garnered fantastic reviews from audiences, critics and industry figures (read one example here). We’ve received over four hundred submissions so far, with multiple past pieces going onto further productions/being turned into films, and we’re incredibly excited to put out the call again. New, untested or developing pieces of theatre – whether self-contained or extracts from longer work – anything’s welcome!

Submissions are already open, and we welcome work from both pre-existing creative teams (with directors and/or actors attached) and lone writers (we’ll help you find the right people to bring your piece to life!) We present eight short pieces and provide a platform for you to see your work staged by the best of the best of up-and-coming actors and directors – along with receiving feedback from the audience.

To submit your piece, please download and fill in the submissions form (download here) and send it (along with your piece) to submissions@justintreadwell.co.uk. There are a couple of guidelines:

  • Minimal technical/set requirements, please – anything special, let us know in the form.

  • Pieces should be titled and between 10-15 minutes long.

  • As we’d like to make the night as useful for development as possible, we ask that you’re available to attend the show on the 16th

The deadline for scripts is 10th February 10th at midnight
