Acting Skills
All levels welcome to this workshop style course. A new topic every week to sharpen your acting skills .
Across 8 weeks you will study a range of acting skills in a friendly environment. Classes vary in style including acting exercises and scene studies. The facilitator provides feedback on performances as well as leads discussions with the group.
Example topics could include: Shakespeare, Objectives & Tactics, Auditions & Self Tapes, Monologues.
Scene Studies
All levels welcome, but you must have attended Acting Skills previously to book onto this course.
In Scene Skills, you will be focusing on 3-5 minute scenes from different playwrights. You will have the opportunity to study character, memorize lines and work with a scene partner.
Students will need to observe and give feedback to the scenes presented. Expect to perform your scene each week and to learn your lines to the best of your ability outside of class time. This course will feel like a rehearsal room rather than a classroom and will give insight into taking notes from a director, blocking and timing.
Potential writers could include: Harold Pinter, Anton Chekov, Tennessee Williams, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde.
Sessions will be held by Director Maggie Marie Casto.
